Museum Visit Lesson Plan
In this lesson plan tailored for 2nd-grade students, the concept of play is the big idea as children are invited to immerse themselves in the child-like world of Henri Matisse. Embracing Matisse's philosophy of art as a form of play, students will be encouraged to experiment freely with color, shape, and composition, fostering a sense of creativity and exploration. Through interactive activities such as creating their own geometric stamps from cardboard and foam, children will engage in playful experimentation, allowing them to express themselves artistically in a joyful manner. By adding elements of play into the lesson, students will not only develop their artistic skills but also cultivate a sense of curiosity and imagination, making the learning experience both enriching and enjoyable.
